Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)

DBT is a practical, evidence-based model that sets us up for real life — how to stay centered when emotions run high, how to communicate with more ease, and how to choose your response instead of reacting from old patterns.

It’s about learning the art of balance — between acceptance and change, between feeling deeply and staying grounded.

DBT develops four core skill areas:

● Mindfulness – cultivating awareness of thoughts, feelings, and impulses to live more fully in the present.

● Distress Tolerance – learning strategies to cope effectively during stress and crises.

● Interpersonal Effectiveness – building healthier, more positive relationships and communication.

● Emotional Regulation – managing strong emotions in healthier, more sustainable ways

3 principles of innate wisdom: Remembering Who We Truly Are.

3 principles of innate wisdom: Remembering Who We Truly Are.

Founded by Sydney Banks

The Three Principles remind us that we already have everything we need inside us.

Our experience of life is created moment to moment through Thought, Mind, and Consciousness.

When we see that our feelings come from our thinking — not from the outside world — we begin to rest in a natural sense of peace, resilience, and wisdom that’s always been there.

Awakening to these principles sets people free from attachment to the contents of any particular thinking with the knowledge that thoughts naturally come and go. What if we all come into the world with the capacity to ride the waves of life with wisdom and common sense? What if there were something simple, something we have always known deep-down but sometimes forgot or failed to appreciate, that would set us free from suffering, stress and anxiety? What if it is within our grasp, at any moment, to find our natural peace of mind?
