About Tova
Hi! So nice to meet you!
A little about me. I’m a therapist, single mom of 6, and the co-Director of The Ki. And I’ve been on my own journey of self growth and discovery. In fact I owe so much to my own therapist, who has since retired, who reminded me of my super power: being aware of, acknowledging and understanding my inner narrative. (& not taking it so seriously). And who changed my life. The greatest gift she gave me was to shift from being a victim to being a person with choice. I learned that we are never stuck. There is always something we can do to help ourselves.
I have 2 great therapeutic loves. The 3 principles of innate health and DBT. The combination is powerful and it is how I strive to live my life on a daily basis. I bring these paradigms into my practice and love watching the light go on when my clients find this understanding within themselves.
I discovered the “3 principles” when I was going through my own personal trauma and life altering crises. Within a few short months I became a single mom of 6 children, my son was diagnosed with diabetes, I was under huge financial stress, and emotional trauma, and to add to my already crazy life, I decided to do a surrogacy, and carried twins for the most wonderful couple.
My therapy did not solve any of my problems, but it didn’t have to. It gave me an understanding into how my mind works, which enabled me to access my inner wisdom and resilience. I have never looked back.
Why the Phoenix?
Besides for the obvious obsession with Harry Potter…
The Phoenix Philosophy:
The Phoenix is a symbol of transformation, rebirth and renewal.
Ancient legend paints a picture of a magical bird, radiant and proud, which lives for hundreds of years before it dies by bursting into flames. It is then reborn from its ashes, rises gloriously and lives again.
And isn’t this the same of our lives?
We are more like the Phoenix than we know.
The phoenix’s true nature is to rise from the ashes and fly — again and again.
It doesn’t force it, it doesn’t earn it — it simply returns to what it already is.
We’re the same.
When we understand that our experience of life is created moment to moment through our own thinking — not by what happens to us — we discover a deep truth: we’re not broken, and we never were.
We are living in the feeling of our thinking. And when our thinking changes, our experience changes — instantly.
We are just one thought away from peace, one insight away from freedom, one moment away from clarity.
The phoenix reminds us that we are not our stories, our pasts, or the labels others have given us.
We are resilient, wise, and whole — always.
When we see that for ourselves, we naturally rise… and soar.
